How I collect, use and protect the personal information you share with me as your mortgage adviser.

This Privacy Policy explains how Vincent Uys, operating under Base Mortgages (FSP1011808), collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information. It complies with the Privacy Act 2020 of New Zealand.
Information I collect
To provide mortgage advice I collect information such as your full name, contact details, date of birth, employment and income details, financial position (assets, liabilities, expenses), identity documents, credit history and information about property you own or intend to purchase.
How I use your information
Your information is used to assess your lending needs, compare and apply to lenders on your behalf, meet my regulatory obligations under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 and the Financial Advisers Act framework, and to communicate with you about your lending.
Who I share it with
I may share your information with lenders you authorise me to approach, credit reporting agencies, insurance providers when arranging protection, your solicitor when required, and my FAP (Base Mortgages) for compliance and record‑keeping purposes.
Storage and security
Your information is stored securely in industry‑standard systems with access limited to authorised personnel. I retain client records for a minimum of seven years to meet regulatory obligations.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal information at any time. To do so, contact me at vincent@basemortgages.co.nz.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about how your information has been handled, please contact me first. If we cannot resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
